Former LSU head coach Les Miles is suing the school over vacated wins from an NCAA infractions case, which dropped his record below the .600 win percentage threshold for College Football Hall of Fame eligibility. Miles also names the NCAA in his lawsuit, claiming he was deprived of due process when LSU failed to inform him of the investigation and reached an agreement with the NCAA without proper notice.
In 2023, LSU vacated 37 wins due to recruiting violations involving Vadal Alexander, which occurred under Miles’ tenure. This lowered Miles’ winning percentage from .667 to just under .600 (at .597), disqualifying him from Hall of Fame eligibility. The lawsuit claims that other major infractions in basketball did not result in vacated wins and, therefore, this case shouldn’t have either.
According to Miles’ attorney, LSU initially appeared willing to support Miles requests but then ceased communication, forcing the lawsuit.
