Luka Doncic led the 5-seed Mavericks to a 124-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 5 to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011. Doncic scored 36 which included a 20-point first quarter and was named MVP of the series.
Kyrie Irving scored 36 and helped quiet the crowd early as the Mavs raced to a 29-point halftime lead. Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns scored 28 points each for the Timberwolves, but struggled against the dynamic tandem of Doncic and Irving.
It will be Doncic’s first trip to the Finals, which kicks off June 6th in Boston.
