Caitlin Clark made history as the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double during the Indiana Fever’s 83-78 win over the New York Liberty on Saturday. Clark’s 10th rebound early in the fourth quarter secured the milestone, and she finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists – also marking the first triple-double in Fever franchise history.
“I feel like we’re playing good team basketball,” Clark said postgame. “I’m just happy for our group, a great win, great for our fans, and that’s just fun basketball.”
Clark played a pivotal role, scoring or assisting on 46 of the Fever’s 83 points to help the team overcome a late deficit. For the season she averages 16.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 7.4 assists, leading all rookies in scoring and assists.
