The US women’s basketball team will notably not include WNBA rookie-phenom Caitlin Clark in the upcoming Summer Olympics, despite her being the sport’s most popular player. The roster is expected to feature WNBA stars and past Olympic champions like Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, and Breanna Stewart.

The US women’s team has won 7 straight Olympic gold medals going back to 1996 Atlanta, and 9 of the last 10. Team USA’s women also won the inaugural 3×3 gold medal in Tokyo in 2021, and they look to defend both world titles this summer.
